Community Donations

Council recognises the value of charitable organisations within our community that support the provision of services, programs and initiatives that make Cottesloe vibrant and iconic.

The annual Community Donations program aims to assist these community organisations to build their capacity, further provide participation opportunities and support the needs of the community.

Through this program the Town of Cottesloe has donated funds to assist many worthwhile projects including skin cancer awareness, coastal native planting, nature play equipment, shade sails and social tennis sessions.

Past recipients include:

Whalebone Classic participants
Surfing WA
Whalebone Longboard Classic

The community donation supported broader marketing of the event to attract more visitors to Cottesloe and to encourage members of the community to get involved.

The Whalebone Longboard Classic has grown in popularity and prestige over the past 20 years, making it one of the most loved and iconic longboarding events in WA and throughout Australia. The event attracts some of the world’s best long boarders as well as great community participation. Showcasing the beautiful beach and focused on community engagement and involvement.

Cottesloe Scouts
Lockable Camping Trailer

The community donation supported the purchase of a new lockable trailer to enable camps, tours and a range of scouting events to be provided for many years.

Cottesloe Scouts aim to encourage the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development of young people so they are enabled to play a constructive role in their local community and globally. This is achieved through an active program that inspires boys and girls aged 5-25 years to do their best.
