West Metro Recycling Centre Tour

Past Event

Join us for a guided tour of the West Metro Recycling Centre. See how the facility operates and have all of your waste and recycling questions answered!

The West Metro Recycling Centre on Brockway Rd in Shenton Park services a population of 97,000 people across the western central metropolitan area. The facility acts as a central transfer station for surrounding councils to efficiently transport their residual and green waste to processing facilities that are further away. The facility provides comprehensive recycling and waste treatment services for our environmentally-conscious residents including cardboard, e-waste, bulk polystyrene, x-ray, white good, mattress and scrap metal recycling to name a few. The recycling centre also operates as an essential Household Hazardous Waste drop-off point where residents can safely dispose of poisons, pesticides, herbicides, household and car batteries, light globes and fluorescent tubes, gas bottles, paint, caustic substances, acids and other household and garden chemicals. We'll also discuss other local recycling initiatives that you can find in your community. Your tour will be followed by time for questions and light refreshments.

We look forward to seeing you there!
