FOGO Three Bin System

Cottesloe is Good to FOGO.

Most households in Cottesloe have now changed to a FOGO waste service. A kitchen caddy and two rolls of compostable liners were delivered to each household in May 2022, together with a How to FOGO pamphlet A FOGO sticker was applied to existing lime green lidded bins.

The lime green lidded FOGO bin is collected weekly and your red lidded general waste bin and the yellow lidded recycle bin are collected fortnightly on alternate weeks.

Additional kitchen caddies and rolls of compostable caddy liners can be purchased from the Town reception desk.

Multi-unit dwellings will gradually transition to FOGO. Any apartment and strata property residents who do not currently have a FOGO waste service and are interested in changing to the FOGO 3 bin system, can email the Town to register their interest. Until your strata complex changes, please continue to place your bins out on the usual schedule.

FOGO

What is FOGO?

FOGO stands for Food Organics Garden Organics. Residents can now place their food waste into the green bin, thus reducing the amount of waste the Town sends to landfill. The contents from the green bin will be turned into high-quality compost. This will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and have a positive impact on our environment.  Under the State Government's Waste Strategy, all metropolitan councils will introduce the new three bin FOGO system by 2025.
