Film and Photo Shoots
The Civic Centre has numerous majestic locations for photo shoots that include the gardens, the fountains, the beaches, the stairways, the historical building and the arches. And yes, our Main Lawn staircase has its own following.
Any film and photo shoot requires a permit. Our permits include the use of the entire Civic Gardens, the only restriction is that you may not use a location that has a function on it. Eg photos may not be taken at the stair case on the Main Lawn if there is a function on the Main Lawn. We can not guarantee exclusive use of the venue and will do not book out a venue for a photoshoot. You have the option of booking the venue for a minimum of 3 hours at wedding rates if you would like to guarantee exclusive use.

Wedding Photos

Bookings can be made for wedding photos at both the Civic Centre grounds and Cottesloe beach.
Areas available for wedding photo bookings are:
- Civic Centre grounds
- North Cottesloe Beach
- Arch Monument - overlooking Cottesloe Beach
- Sun Dial - overlooking Cottesloe Beach
Please note that Cottesloe Beach (sand and grassed area near Indiana's) are not permitted for wedding photos.
Bookings can be made at cost of $205 for the first 90 minutes and then $137 per hour thereafter. Please note that no section of the Civic Centre grounds or beach can be booked exclusively. All these areas are public space and therefore other events or people can use all areas at the same time as your booking.
If you would like to book your wedding photos at any of these areas please complete the Wedding Photo Application Form for Civic Centre grounds or beach wedding photos and return to town@cottesloe.wa.gov.au or in person to 109 Broome Street, Cottesloe, WA, 6011. Please note that applications are not confirmed until payment has been received and approval letter has been issued.

Personal or Portrait Photos

Personal or portrait photos can be booked for one hour sessions at both the Civic Centre grounds and the beach.

Professional Film and Photo Shoots

Professional film and photo shoots, including corporate photo shoots, can be booked for half day (four hour) or full day (eight hour) sessions.
Application forms must be received at least ten business days prior to filming/photo shoot date or the application may not be considered. Larger scale film or photo shoots may require longer time for approval. Applications are classified as charitable, educational, community, tourism or commercial in accordance with the Event and Facility Classification Policy.
Please be aware that if you require the use of Cottesloe Beach, the main section of the beach (in front of Indiana), approval will be subject to the time of year of the shoot.
To book, please complete the Film and Photo Application Form and ensure that you have read the Conditions of Use. Applications are to be returned to town@cottesloe.wa.gov.au and are not confirmed until payment has been received and an approval letter has been issued.
