Clean Up Australia Day

Every year around Australia, hundreds of thousands of people participate in Clean up Australia Day, and help to keep our beaches, rivers and parks litter free. Did you know that in 2012, over 16,000 tonnes of rubbish was collected on this one morning? What a difference your help makes!

This year, the Town of Cottesloe is joining forces with the Town of Mosman Park to put on a great event at Garangup Park, Mosman Park.

2011 Launch of WA's Clean up Australia Day: Cottesloe Beach

The Town of Cottesloe was pleased to launch the WA Clean up Australia Day campaign for 2011. On Tuesday, 15 February Ian Kiernan, Chairman of Clean up Australia Day, was joined by Mayor Kevin Morgan to discuss litter and sustainability issues.

Sadly, West Australian beaches were found to be more polluted than those in other states in Australia, indicating that we really need to take care of our beautiful, iconic beaches and make sure that we dispose of litter, particularly cigarette butts, in bins or take it home with us.
