About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Business Analyst to work with our Senior Business Analyst to deliver high-quality, community aligned outcomes. The Business Analyst will assist the Senior Business Analyst to replace the legacy system (Authority) with DataScape supplied by DataCom. With the overall aim to digitalise and modernise the Town of Cottesloe’s operations, eliminating paper-based processes and implementing digitally enabled workflows.
You will play a critical role in digitalising and modernising the Town of Cottesloe’s operations, eliminating paper-based processes and implementing digitally enabled workflows.
Key duties under the direction of the Business Analyst may include, but are not limited to;
- Become an integral part of the ERP Project Delivery team, working towards the single ERP objective of the program;
- Support and assist the Senior Business Analyst with liaison between business units and delivery partners to ensure the application is designed to meet business needs, ensuring:
- Core functionality is utilised appropriately by the business;
- New functionality is thoroughly tested and ready for implementation;
- Integrations are built and tested to ensure accurate data provisioning; and
- Objectives of key business groups (Governance, Finance, and Regulatory Domains) are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with delivery partners and other technology teams (customer, service provider) to ensure project continuity and successful transition into production;
- Serve as the subject matter expert on the product (DataScape), providing guidance and support to stakeholders and business leaders, particularly focusing on the prioritisation of key activities;
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key areas impacted by the product to stay informed about critical priorities in the product environment;
- Represent the Town of Cottesloe at all working group forums and prepare/present information for meetings;
- Understand and maintain core integrations with the ERP; and
- Perform various tasks related to the ERP system.

About you
The ideal candidate will possess the qualifications, experience and personal attributes necessary to perform effectively in this role.
Essential
- Completion (or near completion) of a degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related discipline with an ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, demonstrated through academic projects or internships.
- Basic understanding of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with people to achieve work outcomes.
- Interest in digital technology and ERP systems, with ability to learn and adapt to new platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and engage with team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under guidance and progressively take ownership of tasks.
Additional Requirements
- Evidence of Australian working rights;
- National Police Clearance (within last six months); and
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical.
