Bin Tagging Education Program

A Bin Tagging Education program to provide individualised feedback and education to residents is being implemented in a selection of households in Cottesloe.

The program incorporates a quick visual assessment of the contents of each of the participating household’s recycling and rubbish bin at the kerbside prior to collection. Based on the assessment, a tag is placed on the bin providing feedback about its contents and how they could recycle more and waste less.

Areas in the Town of Cottesloe have been chosen to ensure a representative sample of Cottesloe’s dwelling types. Not all households will be involved in the program however you may see Community Waste Education staff (who will be wearing a high-visibility vest and carrying appropriate identification) on bin day.

The Town of Cottesloe Bin Tagging Program is funded by the State Government through the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Account and administered by the Waste Authority WA (www.wasteauthority.wa.gov.au).
