Base Salary Approx. $74,000 p.a. plus superannuation and allowances (Industrial Agreement 2024)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for someone who enjoys hands‑on outdoor work and wants to help keep the Cottesloe Civic Centre and surrounding grounds tidy, safe and well‑presented.

You will carry out day‑to‑day grounds and garden maintenance with limited supervision, use a range of equipment, and help keep the historic site looking its best for both locals and visitors.

What you will be doing

Under the direction of the Coordinator Building and Conservation Projects you will perform a range of duties which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mowing, edging, trimming and general garden care

  • Maintaining lawns, garden beds, shrubs, hedges and trees

  • Keeping paths, stairs, verges and building surrounds tidy and safe

  • Clearing litter and debris

  • Monitoring and reporting issues with reticulation systems

  • Basic upkeep of tools, equipment and plant

  • Working with the team to complete daily and seasonal maintenance tasks

  • Supporting other duties as directed by the Coordinator Building and Conservation Projects

About you

You will be perfect for this role if you:

     Essential

  • Have strong experience in grounds maintenance

  • Are organised, reliable and take pride in your work

  • Are able to build strong relationships and work well individually

  • Have demonstrated safe work practices

  • Can operate a wide range of horticultural plant, tools and equipment

     Additional Requirements

  • Current (minimum) “C” Class Licence (MR Preferred)

  • Current Australian Working Rights

  • Willingness to under-go a Pre-Employment Medical (as required)

  • Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)

  • Have, or be prepared to achieve a Chainsaw Operation Competency Certificate
