Base Salary Approx. $88,000 p.a. plus Superannuation and allowances (Industrial Agreement 2024). With commuting use of work vehicle.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Coordinator Works (Civil) to work with our Manager Parks and Operations deliver high-quality, community aligned outcomes. The Coordinator Works (Civil) will manage and oversee the work of the Civil and Mowing teams and Contractors.

You will play a critical role in directing and guiding the Works Staff, receiving, investigating and resolving complaints and enquiries as they arise.

Key duties under the direction of the Coordinator Works (Civil) may include, but are not limited to;

  • Manages a team of staff within the Civil and Mowing Crew, including allocation of tasks and supervision of work;
  • Personnel management comprising of but not limited to performance reviews, achievement planning and resolution of human resource matters;
  • Works under limited supervision and uses discretion deliver to agreed levels of service;
  • Continuous improvement and innovation to achieve efficient work practices;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with delivery partners and other technology teams (customer, service provider) to ensure project continuity and successful transition into production;
  • Uses and maintains Council vehicles and equipment to execute their duties, ensures vehicles and equipment used are clean and serviceable at all times, reports any defects or servicing needs;
  • Attends to office based duties and Act as Manager Parks and Operations when required; and
  • Any other duties as directed by the Manager of Parks and Operations.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess the qualifications, experience and personal attributes necessary to perform effectively in this role.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, or equivalent substantial experience in the areas of work pertaining to the position;
  • Experience in managing and leading a team to ensure their work reflects the values the organization and towards common goals and objectives;
  • Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution including motivating staff and contractors towards achieving high-performance outcomes, as well as managing underperformance;
  • Extensive experience in the maintenance of civil infrastructure and the management of similar projects;
  • Ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirements for them to be completed within an allocated budget and agreed levels of service;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver continuous improvement in current practices and innovation in problem solving;
  • Highly developed customer service and negotiation skills with a proven track record of working with both internal and external stakeholders towards amicable outcomes; and
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations including management systems to ensure the highest possible safety standards.

Additional Requirements

  • ‘C’ class Motor Driver's Licence;
  • Evidence of Australian working rights;
  • National Police Clearance (within last six months); and
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment medical.
