About the Role:

We are seeking two Governance Support Officers to work with us 3 days/week.

This role will make a significant impact across the organisation by supporting strong, transparent and effective governance, working closely with the Manager Governance to deliver high-quality Council and Committee administration and support informed decision-making in line with the WA Local Government Framework.

This role will also give you the opportunity to build your governance expertise across a broad and interesting portfolio, including supporting with Council and Committee reporting, implementation of decisions, governance advice, corporate registers, leases and licences, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the Town’s governance practices.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated capability and experience in a business support or senior administrative role.
  2. Ability to think critically, analyse data and anticipate relevant content to ensure decision makers are fully informed. High levels of attention to detail.
  3. Ability to research, organise and solve problems so the organisation follows all laws and policies.
  4. Use clear communication that anticipates future needs and plans ahead.
  5. Staying calm, thinking clearly and managing priorities effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  6.  Ability to build and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and commitment to ongoing self improvement.
