Tree Planting Along Marine Parade

The Town of Cottesloe has temporarily relocated seven juvenile Norfolk Island pine trees that were recently planted on Marine Parade as part of the Town's Street Tree Master Plan.

Following the planting, concerns were raised by some community members that consultation should have been undertaken prior to the works, given the significance of the beachfront precinct and the Town's commitment to community engagement under the Beach Policy.

In response, the Town has temporarily relocated the trees to allow for community consultation before any decision is made on permanent planting arrangements along Marine Parade. The trees have been moved to a temporary location where they will continue to be maintained and cared for during this process.

The Town will undertake community consultation to gather feedback on future tree planting within the beach precinct. Community input will be considered and presented to Council to help inform its decision on the permanent planting arrangements for the area.

Please keep an eye on the Town's website and social media channels for further information on the consultation process and opportunities to have your say.
