How to correctly dispose

Asbestos (Up to 3 sheets)

At the WMRC transfer station for a fee - WMRC Fees & Charges

Batteries (Household)

Using the receptacle provided at the Council office or Grove Library.

Building materials including bricks, rubble, cement, etc.

By purchasing a tip pass from the Council office and taking to the WMRC transfer station.

Cardboard boxes (large)

For free at the WMRC transfer station.

Chemicals (HHW – Household Hazardous Waste)

Up to 20L or 20kg for free at the WMRC transfer station.

Clothing

In charity bins if they can be reused. Otherwise, place in 120L general waste bin.

Crockery

If broken, in your 120L general waste bin

Electric goods

Neatly on the verge during bulk waste collections. If in working order try advertising on websites like Gumtree for free.

Electronic (E)-waste such as Computers, printers, TVs, laptops, keyboards, etc.

For free at the WMRC transfer station or neatly on the verge during bulk waste collections.

Engine/motor oil (HHW)

Up to 20L for free at the WMRC transfer station.

Fat and grease

Using appropriate receptacles from a commercial operator.

Food waste and scraps

Place in the 120L general waste bin. Will be composted once the DiCOM facility at the transfer station commences operations.

Furniture

Neatly on the verge during bulk waste collections. If in working order try advertising on websites like Gumtree for free.

Garden waste & greens

Place in the 240L green lid bin for a fortnightly collection.

Gas cylinders/LPG Bottles

Small gas cylinders and LPG bottles can be dropped off for free at the WMRC Transfer Station under the Household Hazardous Waste Scheme - WMRC

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Up to 20L or 20kg for free at the WMRC transfer station.

Large branches

Cut down to less than 1.5m in length and 200mm diameter and placed neatly on the verge during verge-side greens collections.

Lawn sods and sand

At the WMRC transfer station for a fee - WMRC Fees & Charges

Lead-acid batteries (HHW)

For free at the WMRC transfer station.

Light bulbs

For free at the WMRC transfer station.

Mattresses & Ensembles

At the WMRC transfer station for a fee. - WMRC Fees & Charges

Mobile phones & chargers

Using the receptacle provided at the Council office or they can be dropped off for free at WMRC as part of free e-waste collection - E-Waste

Motor vehicles and parts

Look for scrap metal recyclers.

Needles or syringes

In approved sharps containers collected by commercial business.

Oil (HHW)

Up to 20L for free at the WMRC transfer station.

Paints and thinners (HHW)

Up to 20L for free at the WMRC transfer station.

Printer cartridges

For free at the WMRC transfer station.

Tree trunks

If larger than the approved size for verge collections, by purchasing a transfer station pass and taking to the WMRC transfer station.
